Blood donation saves lives and improves health. Voluntary blood donors are critical to ensuring a safe blood supply that provides transfusions for those suffering from severe trauma, cancer, anemia, sickle cell disease, complications of pregnancy, and a variety of other ailments and complex medical procedures. Just one pint of blood has the potential to save up to three lives, and blood may also be separated into its individual components—red cells, platelets and plasma—to help patients with certain conditions.
Caterpillar facilities may partner with reputable blood centers to host onsite employee blood drives. If you are interested in coordinating a facility blood drive, please contact Stacy DeJaynes, Global Total Health Services Manager, at DeJaynes_Stacy@cat.com or +1 309-675-7975.
